Christian Hermanson doesn’t just talk about leadership; he has lived it. From the cockpit of military operations to the front lines of community safety, Christian’s career is rooted in a simple principle: putting people first.
- Military Discipline: As a retired U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sergeant with 29 years of service, Christian brings a high level of strategic planning and crisis management to the Iowa Legislature. He knows how to get things done under pressure.
- Public Safety: His experience as a police officer gives him a unique, first-hand perspective on the challenges of drug addiction and mental health, making him a powerful advocate for public safety.
- Rural Roots: As a 5th generation Iowan, and raised on a North Iowa family farm, Christian understands the economic challenges facing our rural communities and is dedicated to ensuring North Iowa remains a place where families can thrive.
Today, Christian is focused on delivering results through tax reform, economic development, and better access to healthcare. He is proud to represent District 59 and is working every day to build a stronger future for all of us.
Rooted in Iowa Values
After 29 years of military service and a career in law enforcement, I’ve learned that leadership is about showing up and doing the work. My faith, my family, and the values I learned growing up on our family farm guide every vote I cast. The people of Cerro Gordo county and all of District 59 deserve a representative who listens and delivers results. It is an honor to be your voice at the Capitol in Des Moines, and I am fully committed to fighting for our home.
Family
Christian and Angela, married for 19 years, have a blended family and are the proud parents of two adult sons and three granddaughters.
Faith
Christian and Angela are active parishioners at Epiphany Parish, regularly attending services and supporting parish ministries.
